Australian universities among world's best in subject rankings

Australia has once again been highly ranked globally in the latest THE World University Rankings by Subject, featuring in the top 50 of nine out of the 11 subject rankings. These results highlight the diverse academic strengths of Australia's higher education sector.

Highlights from the rankings

Australia's top-performing subject areas globally include Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting and Finance, Medicine and Dentistry, Law and Education Studies.  

Australia also claimed the top spot globally with the highest score in Psychology going to the Australian Catholic University (ACU).  

Australia featured among the highest ranked across the following subject categories:  

• Three universities in the top 50 for Medicine and Dentistry 
• Four universities in the top 50 for Law  
• Four universities in the top 50 for Education Studies
• Five universities in the top 100 for Engineering  
• Six universities in the top 100 for Accounting and Finance  
• Seven universities in the top 100 for Computer Science.
