Australian universities have again been recognised for making a difference, as seen in the latest global Impact Rankings from The Times Higher Education (THE).
The annual THE Impact Rankings assess the social and economic contributions of universities around the world. Rankings are determined using metrics based on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) across four areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.
This year, Australia has the most top 10 universities in the world with four universities in the overall category:
Western Sydney University (WSU), ranked 1st in the world for the third year in a row.
University of Tasmania is the world’s (tied) second highest ranked university in the overall category.
Australia has nine universities in the top 50 and 12 in the top 100.
