My Journey

I have always had a passion for entrepreneurship. After completing high school, I embarked on various ventures, including the establishment of a call centre. However, I recognised the need for a formal business education so I could scale up.

I decided to study in Australia to pursue my Master of Marketing. This decision has proven to be invaluable. My studies equipped me with the technical acumen and professionalism that I needed to be able to succeed.

The Australian experience

The Australian National University (ANU) provided an enriching environment for me to learn. My course was inspiring, fostered a sense of entrepreneurship and emphasised the importance of business plans.

Canberra's relaxed pace, combined with ANU's supportive atmosphere was an incredible experience that I will never forget.

Returning home

With my new understanding of business with a global outlook, I returned to India where I started to support startups through investment and mentorship. I also opened my own rug shop.

Then, during a holiday with my wife, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by Indian women with public toilets. This inspired us to develop the Peebuddy, India's pioneering stand-and-pee device for women. And so, our new business, Sirona Hygiene, was born.

Along with the Peebuddy and other feminine products, Sirona aims to spark conversations about menstruation and challenge the stigma that surrounds female sanitation in India. Despite encountering hurdles along the way, we have made significant strides in fostering open dialogue, with hopes for reshaping societal attitudes by the time my daughters come of age.

The company was recognised as one of the top three winners of the Amazon Accelerator Propel program in 2020 and we were able to secure US$50,000 in funding.

Recently, The Good Glamm Group acquired a majority stake in Sirona Hygiene for US$15million USD. This has given me the opportunity to, once again, focus on mentoring other startups.
