Australian universities are again being recognised for making a difference, as seen in the latest global Impact Rankings from The Times Higher Education (THE).

The annual THE Impact Ranking assesses the social and economic contributions of universities around the world. It uses metrics based on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) across four areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.

This year, Australia has 15 Australian universities ranked in the top 100 universities globally for impact against the UN SDGs, supporting solutions for shared global challenges.

At the very top of the rankings is Western Sydney University (WSU), who ranked no. 1 in the world for the second year in a row.

WSU earned its ranking for world-leading efforts to tackle environmental and social challenges through research, teaching and local engagement.
