Australia's Prime Minister, the Hon Anthony Albanese, has announced a new education agreement between India and Australia. This agreement, called the Mechanism for the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications, is India’s most comprehensive education agreement of its kind with another country.
Australia’s Minister for Education the Hon Jason Clare, together with India’s Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the Hon Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, signed the agreement in New Delhi last week.
The Mechanism means that Indian students obtaining a degree from an Australian university will have that degree recognised in India for the purposes of continuing higher education.
